Hi all!

Based on AMV-Codec-Tools (http://code.google.com/p/amv-codec-tools/) I have created a free AMV converter for both Windows and LINUX.

I've uploaded both versions on this website.

>> Bytessence AMVConverter (Linux)

My webpage is:
http://www.bytessence.com

Looking forward for your opinions and don't forget to donate for my efforts if you find it usefull.

Cya around!

EDIT:
Latest version here:
- Bytessence AMVConverter 0.8 (Windows)

- Bytessence AMVConverter 0.8 (Linux)

Wow, thanks man! I've been waiting for this one for long.

Although i don't use my Actions player too often now, i'll give it a try and see how it runs.

Thanks for sharing this with us all alex2pb!

I've installed it but will do some more testing with it.

Looks very nice that's for sure. Work well done!

this programme is great, a million times better than utilities. but one major problem is that it doesn't fill in the blank sound parts of a movie like utils does, I did the simpsons movie, it has a 13 second disclaimer at the start and the sound is out for 13 seconds for the rest of the movie. Im giving this player as a gift and so need some simple software to go with it (editing out the start of movies isnt an option)

Thanks.

Flamer.

Hi,

I cannot get it working. GUI starts, I can choose the file for conversion but when I start the conversion the program hangs (and I cannot even create a logfile). A small amv file with 316 bytes is created.
I am using Debian Linux.

How can I fix the problem?
I tried to replace the ffmpeg in the Core directory by the Debian provided (I put a symlink), then the GUI does not hang however the conversion stops.

Can I test anything else?

Thanks and br,
Gatu

Hi,

update: The converter is running now. I updated mplayer on my computer and so automatically several dependencies of mplayer where updated.
However when I play these files on my player after 0-2 seconds the video stops with some short noise and the player hangs.
Any idea what I am doing wrong? I tried several options during conversion and the result is always the same.

Anyway: The interface is very clean, I like it - I just would like to get this running.

Thanks and br,
Gatu
