Rockchip annoyance..can firmware resolve this issue
Hello to all. Hope someone has a definite answer to this problem.
I recently bought from the reputable chinavasion a rockchip player that unlike my last one which looked identical, will only play 18fps avi in rotated mode... This is a real pig for me as i was used to directly converting with xilisoft dvd-mp4 at 24fps in high quality with a decent mp2 sample rate. Dvd's still retained their quality. So it is a significant downgrade. It is a pain that i'm not willing to put up with basically as i would have to convert and then rotate as avi convertor smart is just not up to it. I noticed that on 22nov tyfon uploaded firmware for 2606a which is identical to my player. Is it possible that firmware will help change the orientation of the videos and put an end to my hunt to replace my previous fantastic little player? I have the same player as pictured in Tyfons post but 4GB flash firmware 0.0.0.0 which really isn't encouraging. looking forward to some wisdom... thanks |
You should keep your firmware so you don't break your player.
As for the video conversions, i think this program has everything you need. ;) |

Well as good a piece of software as it is, it doesn't do what i need it to... such a stupid idea for the manufacturer to basically limit the functionality of the player... i may have to sell it.
