Re: "File Format" Error, even though its AVI
HEyy it's happening the same to me! Actually I tried the program that came with the CD, (avi convert tool or something like that). The installation was alright, but when I push "convert" nothing happens. It doenst freeze, it just looks like I didnt even push the button. So I tried to install in my notebook. Than the program went alright like... 3 times? And then, it started to "not work" just like before. A few things: When I used the convert that came with the CD (the one that doesnt "move"anymore) the videos DID work on the player. Then I tried many converters I found, and when its avi it shows the icon on the player but I get the error message about the file being in the wrong format. What I think is that there must be especific parameters that we need to put on the other programs like codec, bitrate, framerate and audio format besides the size. The thing is I dont know what they are and I have no idea how to find out these information since it doenst say anything on the manual. I've tried some combinations, but never works. I think I have exactly the same problem as you do. If you somehow get the original program working, it will probably convert the video ok, but the problem is... how are we going to make it work????? |
Yeah I have that problem too with the default AVI program it comes with.. it just doesn't start.. it stops at like 1%..
If somebody knows how to fix that, then yeah, maybe the vids will work... |
Re: "File Format" Error, even though its AVI
Hello!
I have this problem too. |
Re: "File Format" Error, even though its AVI
first copy the karbon avi converter to your computer (is on little disk that comes with player). hook up usb and player to computer. open up avi converter. set resolution on avi converter 160pixels x 128pixels. find source file ( the movie you want to copy .avi dvd vcd svcd etc. )then the target file which the drive letter for you mp3 player. this is very important
to make sure that the target file has the name of the movie: example X:\blabla black sheep.avi where X is the drive letter of the mp3 player and you must type .avi as shown in the example. click the aviconverter button to start conversion and transfer to player. be patient the bar will show progress in a while. it will tell you when it is done. Gaurenteed success if followed correctly. Cheers. sorry forgot the example in the above. |
Re: "File Format" Error, even though its AVI
I hope your right, because I've tried the program before, converting directly to my computer though, and it just stayed at 1%, after I left it there all day... and its a very short concert vid im testing it with.. under a minute.. so it shouldnt take that long..

well, i tried it.. i converted it all afternoon.. it moved to like.. 4%, then jumped back to 0 and crashed.
i think its my program thats on the cd.. can someone upload one that works for mee??? |

Re: "File Format" Error, even though its AVI
AVConverter/AVIConverter 2/3/4 or AVIConverter Smart/Smart 2 depends on MEncoder: www.mplayerhq.hu and he is using a Converter.INI to give all converting parameters to MEncoder.exe.
These Converter.INI isn't well written, sometimes very bad, because the Rockchips RK260xA-player can only play Videos with ONE resolution: RK 2602A - only 160x128 pixel RK 2606A - only 224x176 pixel (sometimes 220x176 pixel) RK 2608A - only 320x240 pixel You could check my words at www.rock-chips.com All other resolutions have to be EXPANDed to the right resolution, like these example line of my personal adapted Converter.INI: 1-1-1=-ofps 20 -vf-add scale=128:104 -vf-add expand=224:176:-1:-1:1 -srate 44100 -ovc xvid -xvidencopts bitrate=200:max_bframes=0:quant_type=h263 -oac lavc -lavcopts acodec=mp2:abitrate=128 The Videopicture will be 128x104 pixel, but it will get black borders around until the Resolution reach 224x176 pixel. I'm owner of two players with RockChips RK2606A: Auvisio ZAK4 (224x176) & Auvisio Mini Boom Box deluxe (220x176) and you could find my personal Homepage to this devices at www.auvisiozak4.dreipage.de - there is also displayed my personal Converter.ini you can use it with AVConverter/AVIConverter 1/AviConverter 2/AVIConverter 3/AviConverter 4/AVIConverter Smart and AVI Converter Smart2. One Note: My Resolutions higher than 320x240 won't work with the AVIConverter - theire only working with the first Version called AVConverter ! If you're tired of AVIConverter try the Original MEncoder with GFrontend 2007.3 - my Favourite now... regards from germany, lca77 |
