[solved] "Invalid format" when playing videos on i
I just bought a iphone/itouch look a like, iphony 4gb w/ camera, although its not a touch screen.
I cant seem to get the right video files. It requires avi or mpg4, but even after i convert movie files to avi/mpg4, i still can't get them to play. is there a specific-specific format? it just says invalid format. if you can please help me. |
Re: Invalid format when playing vidoes on iPhone look-a-like
Hi k_thao24,
Do you have a photo of your player or links to where you bought it from? I can only think of a few reasons why you get the error: 1. You might have bad memory blocks or the memory has been hacked. It's quite common with "invalid format" error messages. So, try FORMATTING your player, then upload videos to it and see if that works. 2. Some players needs to have a SPECIFIC screen resolution so you might want to check this. The best thing to do is to look at the SAMPLE VIDEO that came with your player see what format that is and what the resolution is. 3. Lastly, it coud actually be in a different video FORMAT altogether. Some are .SMV, .AMV, .AVI etc. SO the "invalid format" could mean that it's actually not in the correct format for your player to read it. |
Re: "Invalid format" when playing videos on iPhone
well, here's the ebay site.
2.8" 4GB MP4/MP3/ TOUCH SCREEN/Camera/Video/Bag 4 GB If you read the specs, it says "Video Support MPEG-4 (AVI)." i converted my videos to many formats, .amv, .avi., mpg4 and none of them works. I did use a program called "mp4tool" that came in a disc with the player. |
Hi k_thao24,
One of the newer players which I don't have right now. Did you find a sample video in your player? If you do, does that play ok? Have you also tried FORMATTING your player as well? Make sure you take a backup of what is already on there just in case you need any of the files/folders. |
Re: "Invalid format" when playing videos on iPhone
darn it, i remeber there was a movie that came with it. but i deleted it and didnt think of anything. darn darn. well, im reformating the player now, and hopefully that works. i know this is a long shot, but what would be the usual video resolution for a 2.8" screen player?

This is a Rockchip player, It's a Onda copy not an Ipod/phone touch copy.
You will need to run your videos though aviconverter to get the video resolution to match the player, set the resolution in aviconverter to 320x240 Aviconverter is available either on your cd or in the downloads section of this site. |
