I haven't received my player yet, but I've downloaded the AMV 4.05 converter from tinydeal and started playing with it, and I've noticed something strange.
I'm using, as a test file, a 22:30 Divx file that is 158.7Mb.
When I convert it to 160 x 128, the file size is 144.3Mb, no matter what quality (high, medium or low).
When I convert it to 176x140 the file size is 120.8Mb, no matter what quallity (high, medium or low).
When I convert it to 192 x 160, the file size is 137.0Mb, no matter what quality (high, medium, or low).
While the files are not exactly the same size (they differ by a few Kb), they are so close that the difference does not matter.
I expected smaller files, and for the quality to make a difference. Am I doing something wrong, or is that just how the AMV converter works?
Thanks!
