Default aviconverter 4.0 and DVD (VOB) Files

Hi,

I have recently joined this forum. I am trying to convert DVD (VOB) file. When I try to add files to AVIConverter, I cant see any VOB files even if I change the folder to VIDEO_TS on my DVD Drive.

Any idea what the issue may be.

Thanks

Although I don't know the program intimately, one would assume that you're trying to convert a copy protected dvd, which is encrypted to prevent you from doing so, so you would first need to circumvent the protection to do so.

If indeed it is NOT a copywritten file, then the name of the program assumes that you would be converting avi's to another type, not other types TO avi!

Your best bet would be to get tmpgenc, it's demoware, and if your .vob is convertable, it'll do it for sure.

pwmpxplayer

I assume you are using AviConverter 'cos you have a Rockchip player..

Try viDrop with built in DVD ripping:-

If the admin guy is concerned with housing copy protected files, don't you think he'd also be concerned with copywrite circumvention software?

Or does it only do non-encrypted dvd's?

Depends on the country you happen to live in.

Under the "fair use" law in some countries you are allowed to make copies of media (Dvd's etc) that you own to download on to portable devices.

As far as I know viDrop only copies non-encrypted dvd's.
