[SOLVED] Another problem with Rockchip & avi's

Hey all,

Received my 1gb Stage Flash MP4 player today :

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/132908

Now I know the description says it plays MTV / AMV files but it doesn't , only avi's. Problem is that, apart from the sample avi that I deleted before taking note of its compression settings, it won't play any others no matter which convertor I use.

Spent the past 3-4 hours using various versions of AVIConvertor, including the one that rotates the avi by -90 degrees ( got it here in the download section - http://www.mympxplayer.org/aviconver...tup-df726.html - as the links in the forum threads are dead ), viDrop v0.55, WinAVI Convertor, all with no joy.

In Device Manager it's shown as RockChip USB SD & RockChip USB MP3, and has the exact same interface as the top player in this pic :

http://www.mympxplayer.org/rockchip-...rs-asp396.html

And these 2, except I have a 2" display rather than 2.4" :

http://www.mympxplayer.org/album_sho...php?pic_id=455

http://www.mympxplayer.org/album_sho...php?pic_id=457

If I check the players system settings, it shows the version as 00.00.0007, with a date of 2007-09-21

Anyone happen to have the same / similar player and know what program to use to get avi's working properly please ? It's driving me nuts

Thanks in advance.

How you solved this problem, MoodyBlues?
I have the same player http://www.mympxplayer.org/rockchip-...rs-asp396.html (second one), I tryed AVI Convertor, Xilsoft, viDrop
Code:

(resolution 224x176
framerate 20 (for pal-videos) or 24 (ntsc)
videobitrate: 200 (up to 350)

audio: mp2, 128kbps, 2 channels, stereo, 44khz

and as an extra MEncoder parameter:
-vf-add scale=224:176 -vf-add expand=224:176:-1:-1:1)

and NO VIDEO played at my player :((
