One stop shop for converting to AMV?
Hello,
Looking for software to convert video to AMV for use on lil mp4 player. Software that came with it converts the avi files to an avi file of the corret size, then you have to use another program, amv converter to convert that little avi file to amv. I am looking for something that will do both in one go, do you know of anything? Also, every video file that I've converted (tried 3) all don't work properly, a few minutes into the video they mess up, the sound is still ok but the video goes all off the screen and weird colours and stuff. This is not a problem with the player since the videos do exactly the same thing when played back on the pc. Anyone know why this is and how to stop it? Thanks. |
Re: One stop shop for converting to AMV?
Try the Bytessence AMVConverter 1.1 (Windows) from here.
Or the MP3 Player Utilitieswhich has the AMV Converter on it which should convert a .avi straight to .AMV without having to convert to a smaller .avi firstly. Hope that helps. |
Thanks for your reply.
Tried with the Bytessence software, configured it to do 12 FPS (it says this is suitable for any display size), then I did one of each available resolution. None of them would play properly, I'm getting a "format error" message on the screen, or some of them just hang the player then it has to be shut down manually. A couple of the videos play for a second then stop and the player hangs. |

Hi LazyD,
That's very unusual to see that it hangs on so many videos. Tried changing the quality to e LOW?

Re: One stop shop for converting to AMV?
Hi, the mp3 player utilities seems to be pretty pants but I got the bytessence software working ok.
If I set it to High quality (which really doesn't seem very high quality, I dread to think what the low quality is like) and 16 FPS (the highest setting), all the videos of all sizes work correctly. The player is a friends, I don't have it with me now but its a nano 3rd gen clone, 2gb, it has the firmware with the menus that look pretty much like a real nanos menus and it has the same connector on the bottom that a real nano has. It has a sample video, the one where the dog (?) parachutes into a bunch of cacti, that vid looks good but stuff I convert, not so good. Anyway, just came back to say thanks and that I got it working. |
