Just trying this out for my Rockchips, needs a "xvidcore.dll" in the same folder as the converter for Rockchip videos.

Not been able to get it to create a Rockchip type avi yet.

Tried 1 flv and 2 mpgs, it just seems to finish straight away and create a 0 bytes file.

Everyone, please try this new converter out and give feedback for the developer!!

MEncoder calculates on a 12bit base, ffmpeg on a 24bit base - theire isn't any chance to get the videos working on Rockchip-Players until you're including mencoder into MPxConverter. Some other options like rotation, flipping and Motion-Search-Precision are missing too - no chance to replace the AVIConverter Smart-Versions until now. viDrop isn't perfect too, but a big step ahead.

Hi lca77,

Thanks for the tip. I think i'll add mencoder too. I forgot about the sample size :(.

I am aware of that, but I am not trying to get something very complicated or to replace anything. The program was created to simplify the conversion for non-tech savvy people.

Thanks again.

Hi alex2pb,

theire are some generations of Rockchip-Players out there:

1. the rk2602A-chip with the resolution of 160x128 pixel, 12 or 15fps
2. the rk2606A-chip with the resolution of 224x176 pixel, 20 or 24fps
(in some players only 220x176, sometimes rotated and fliped into 176x220, 18 or 20fps)
3. the rk2608A-chip with the resolution of 320x240 pixel, 20 or 24fps
4. the rk2706A-chip with the resolution of 400x240 pixel
(but capable to play all files until 800x480 Pixel
5. the rk2708A-chip - only announced until now
6. the rk2710A-chip - only announced until now

Some players need the mencoder-option me_Quality=0 with a high videobitrate, others need me_Quality=4 with a lower videobitrate.

Most AVIConverters try to simplify the conversion of videos for Rockchip-Players too, but it's only a worthless try ... I'll hope this known values will lead you to a better try with MPxConverter ;D

Hi lca77,

I'll try to add the specified options. I guess that at least for rockchip, the options aren't that wide. Thank you very much for the values, this will help improve the software, but if the things complicate more than i can handle and more time than i can dedicate to this project, i'm afraid i'll have to cut down rockchip from the players list and only support what i'm sure it will work, Sunplus and Actions.

Re: A new AMV Converter program MPxConverter by bytessence

Hi alex2pb,

most versions of the AviConverters (from Version 3 and above) are only offering one resolution for conversion, because most Users haven't succeeded with AVConverter or AVIConverter (2) whom have offered more resolutions before. Rockchip-Players arn't so simple as they should, you could read this in many threads about conversionproblems: "Wrong file format" is the most used term ...

But keep on the work on MPXConverter, even for Rockchipplayers: every kind of optional programs will be welcome by someone !

I am lucky with the Original MEncoder and the "GFrontend for MEncoder 2007.03" - even if i had to build the right presets for my Rockchipplayer by my own. rgrds, lca77

Great application! Very very fast and works better for me than AVM Converter!

Thanks a lot!
