I tried putting that in the root and wasnt suscefull, is there a way to change the fonts ( video icon, music icon etc) on my player.

I cant seem to get at any of the icons, only the backgrounds so far, like the welcome screen, desktops, charging screen, usb connect screen and goodbye screen.

If it was possible to change the icons then that would make a huge difference.

The icons on the ramos clone are quite large and not at all impressive.

Right, I got them.

I notice all the video/music/radio icons etc, are on a pink background ( though this doesnt show when on the player), if I were to load new images, do I have to load them on the same pink backround?

Oh, bye the way, I appreciate all the help your supplying here, Ive put you on my Christmas card list.

In the meantime Im off to find some new icons.

Thanks makd511.

the pink is used a transparent color, so anything pink will be transparent on the player - solid pink though, not a true alpha channel at all, so no fading blends into the pink or it wont work, and images are supposed to be 32 bit BMP images, but 24 should be ok

have a wizz at this site for ipod themes, they come with full sets of png icons you can adapt and use, maybe

http://www.ipod-touch-themes.de/

remember to post your end results

good luck

and BTW dont be put off by all the images in the firmware, rockchip are seriously bad at housekeeping and 50% of the images are for other players UI`s!!!!!

Oh dear,

Think Ive opened a can of worms with this.

Ive scrapped the Bladrunner theme and nearly finished a simple but (I think) effective theme. I struggled to get the icons I wanted and tried making my own.

I have now just discovered Paint.net and reckon Ill be able to do most of the stuff I want, theres not enough time in the day.

You could be waiting a while to see this one.

Hello guys,
I need your help on this,
I read you both have ramos rm970 clone and i badly need that firmware you extracted from the player.
I have 2 of these(with the screws)and in the firmware there is not the playfx feature.
So if it is possible to upload them here for us to download would be heaven
Or you can add me into msn : jimmysdem@zapo.net
and skype : demetris_i
Thanks in advance for the help

Thanks for the info,
I already tried that but doesnt work!
It whitens the screen when it starts the update and player is d.e.a.d!
So i need the firmware from an already fuctional player.

Hawk is the only one that can help me out.
Also i have managed to put m400 firmware on it but has not playfx also
They have release a new firmware now but i couldnt put it on my player as the standalone firmware dont work as a stanalone from the player you have to put it on the player with a tool they provide but i didnt figured out yet how!
If you download the 11.7.2008 firmware update of M400 you will find out what i am talking about!
So hawk will you help me out on this?
Please i need your firmware,
Thanks again for all

surprisd the m400 worked and also surprised at no PlayFX settings

you have probably tried this by have you renamed the "RK27SDK.RKW" to setup.rkw and seeing if that works, put it on the main memory not 60 meg drive and disconnect

else, what about splitting the files into separate parts and copying them directly to the 60 meg partition

hi,
I have put it on the player as rk27sdk.rkw and setup.rkw and is not update the player, i dont know why but it shutdowns the player and i need to reset it to be put back to life, the on button dont work but when back is the same old firmware it was no changes so is harmless to try but in the update archive they provide a utility name rk27dm.exe, when opened i see update manager v1.2.1 also i have a *.pdf but all in chinese
How i split the files of the firmware? is there a way to extract the *.rkw?
If there is am sure m300 will fit perfectly if extracted and if i found out by alteans how to use the tool i will be able to put m300 firmware on it by resizing the fat partition.
Thanks for the help btw
