Default Some videos disappeared and comes up 'invalid format'

u need to know ur stuff for this problem! i had a touchscreen mini mp4 8gb rockchip player bought me for xmas. i downloaded vidrop and my vids worked fine, then a few days later i turned it on to watch my music vids and some had disappeared and the others came up file format error. i formatted my drive and started puttin my vids back on and im always having different problems!! my vids freeze on me and im havin to constantly reset, when im transfering vids i go to my computer, click on removeable disk and it wont open, sometimes it comes up corrupted file, sometimes a black box appears, i put music vids on the player then they all disappear and im left with only the first 10 i first put on. i convert my vids and they come up file error so i delete, copy and paste the same music vid and that works, but then might not work the next time i put another music vid on or the next time i click play! everything else works fine but the main reason i was bought this player was because i wanted it for music videos! please help me! thanks in advance

Sounds like a bad block on the memory chip or a faulty area on the memory chip.

Have you tried doing a CHECKDISK on that drive from Windows to see if that helps with the problem?

Try that and let us know of the result.

Yes, the chkdsk feature should do it. Did you specify it with the /f /r switches? Also, did you specify the drive left of your player instead? Otherwise it will do a checkdisk on the C:\drive instead.

Also, have a look at this Knowledge Base: How to: Perform a scan disk and repair bad sectors.

Let us know how you get on.

tried chkdsk/f. it says cannot lock file and asks do i want it to do a check or something when i restart the pc, i say yes and then when it restarts nothing happens. also i had a look at the link u posted about how to repair bad sectors and perform a disk scan and that hasnt worked either! the 1st time i did it a folder in my videos appeared called FOUND.0000 but that disappeared after i formatted and tried scanning again. somethin else ive notuced, after ive put 1 video on, which always comes up file error, it seems to take up over 1gb of my disk space. also folders with dodgy numbers and symbols are appearing throughout my video folder and explorer. i dont know if this is normal but after ive formatted and done this check disk everythings cleared as expected, but as soon as i put a vid on, two folders appear in my explorer called autorun and something else? i just dont know wot to do anymore! i know this would be a really good player if i could just get it to work!!!!

The FOUND.0000 is generally 'dead' folders Windows puts in there after a scan so they can be deleted.

Have you tried this on another computer instead? I wondered if there is something on your computer............. Also, try ANOTHER USB CABLE on another computer as well just in case.

After formatting, you shouldn't have any 'autorun' files or folders in there so that tells me there might be something dodgy going on with the memory of your player or perhaps a virus.

tried doing it on another pc and the same still happens. if there is a virus on my player how did i get it? and what do you recommend to get rid? i still get the autorun and diskcheck folders appear in my explorer and the more videos i manage to get on, the more autorun, diskdrive and usbcable files appear throughout my explorer.
