Default [solved] MTV (ALIAVI?) Converter on Linux

HI, I have an mp3 player taht can also play video but only in mtv format 128x128 at 25 fps.

Is there any software for linux taht can convert in mtv format?

I think my player has a M7101 ALi chip, and I also think it uses not tha amv format but the one called ALIAVI: no other conversion tool found online seem to work with it, only its own software included with the player, that works perfectly, but only under windows.

Thanx for your answer!

yeah!!!!!!!!

I've found it put!!!!!!!!

To make the software run on wine, just download a qedit.dll from somewhere on the web, put in in the system32 folder, then do EXACTLY like this:

1- regsrv32 qedit.dll

2- on winefcg, libraries--> add qedit as "native"

3- regsrv32 /u qedit.dll

4- regsrv32 qedit.dll

and finally the software works!!!

Hi pasquy85,

Glad to see you have it working now.

I've never heard of the "ALIAVI" conversion software before.

Are you able to UPLOAD it to our site so we can share it with other users? I would be interested to know more about it and how it differs from the other MTV converters we already have in the downloads section of this site.

Also, can you post us more information about your player?

Hi!

So, my mp3 player is branded "Eldor", but i think that's just a brand..often they sell the same kind of player with a lot of names..!

http://cgi.ebay.it/LETTORE-MP4-ELDOR...ayphotohosting

Anyway, I think (according to what i can read from the content of a .ini file in the conversion software), it uses a chip M7103.

From the user's manual, it can plays *.mtv. Well, i tried other softwares to encode in mtv format, but none of the video created seemed to play on my mp3 player..from here:

http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-514943.html

the post from"clubsoda", i think there are different kind of mtv formats: mine seemes to be that ALIAVI cited there.

Anyway, it's own software works good on Win, and now also on WINE! ;9

BTW: to make it run on WINE you have also to install directx9 and codecs like ffdshow, for example by winetricks...but the real problem was about the qedit.dll, as I said in the previous post.

Here's a link to the software (it's on my altervista space, you can download and upload on the forum, they says it's for free distribuction):

http://pasqualesalza.altervista.org/VideoConverter_V2.12.00(7103).zip (copy and paste)

And here's also a video converted by the software:

http://pasqualesalza.altervista.org/prova.mtv (copy and paste)

PS: it seems to be good to first convert the video with something like avidemux in xvid avi format, with mp3 sound, 25 fps, then to use the software.

The above works great for the Jensen SMPV-1GBUA , SMPV-2GBUA , SMPV-4GBUA & SMPV-8GBUA models too !
