Coby converter issues

When I try to convert an AVI file, the converter tells me that the file failed to load and that I need to install a Quick Time codec or Real codec. I have convereted an AVI file I recorded on my daughters camera without any issues. Any ideas?

Have you tried downloading the Quick Time or Real Codec and installed it on your computer? Some video are in .MOV format which requires the Quick Time codec or one similar and you need it as that's what the converter uses to view the file and convert it.

Convenient for traveling in your vehicle Product InformationThe Coby CA-709 Car Converter is a high quality 800mA regulated DC Adapter withthe ability to convert the power from your car cigarette lighter. Connect a DVD player to your TV using a RCA connection method. RCA is the Yellow, white and red wire.Yellow stands for video (display), and red and white stands for audio (sound). Connect the yellow from "video out" of the DVD player, to video in at the back of the TV, then same method goes for the audio wires. After that, turn on the DVD player, turn on the TV and press AV/source from the TV remote and there should be a display of the DVD on the TV.
