Binh-
Added a post to Sticky: 146 eBay traders reported as selling hacked players . As for the video playback, I followed the advice of FZdman, (5 posts up) and it plays videos converted by the program he recommended, but I can't get it to play videos in any other formats - it was advertised as being able to play .flv, .wmv, mp4, etc.

Hey mad dad

What I've found when they advertise that it can play flv, wmv etc video files it that they fail to say "...conversion needed". That's what I've found is the biggest 'catch' - it has to be converted first! Confirm it with who you bought it off from and I bet you that, that is what they would tell you.

Use Vidrop to convert the files. I have been playing with the same player as you.

It is definitely 4gb (I opened it and found a 4gb samsung chip) and it does play AVI files. You do need to convert them to the correct screen resolution with Vidrop though (320x240 at 22fps).

I am still trying to figure out how to repartition the thing to 4gb.

Here is my topic on the device...

This player is actually one of the nicer players I have seen. 4gb brand new MP4 for $27US is a good deal in my opinion. Shame about the hack hassle though but I knew it would be hacked as no one can sell a real 32gb player for around 30 bucks.

Buying and reselling these hack jobs has turned into quite a hobby for me although when I do resell them I make sure they are working great and that the hack is removed.

I am also thinking about getting one.
All my movies are XVID, mp3, 320x180

What's the playback like (Smooth? Good resolution?) and does it really have 32GB onboard?

Thanks

*UPDATE* Seller has now asked me to withdraw my bid as he has retested the device (2Htest) and is only able to copy 3.8GB onto the player!

I dragged a avi movie onto the player without converting it and it played just fine actually

Sounds like a firmware issue. the problem is we haven't identified a decent firmware to replace the crap that is already on the device.

It seems some avi movies work fine and others say invalid format :s Does anyone know why this is? Is there a way to know in advance if a movie will play on it or not?
