[solved] Video --) file format error
i have a serioux s51 mp4 player 2gb with firmware 01.03.2003
on several sites it says that it plays .avi files but i receive a file format error message when i try to play one in one or two sites it says that it plays .mtv files but i tried them and they don't show up in the player it only shows the .avi files but it won't play them please help me i really want to watch videos too thank you! |
You have a Rockchip player.
Try these video samples:- Download the one that works will tell you the correct setting to use in viDrop to convert your videos to play on YOUR player:- |
:(
the one with the size 128x128 (18fps) works, i tried to covert it that way on viDrop but it won't work
i mean it apears a picture i press pauuse and if i don't it goes back to browsing folders. and i tried another one and if i press play it goes back again but if it's in the pause and i rewind iti see pictures but no sound. the if i press play it goes back again i don't know what do anymore please help me! thank you |
Just had a look at a photo from a website in Romania.
It's not a Rockchip player after all, I think it should play .mtv files not .avi. There should be a .mtv converter in download tools section. http://mympxplayer.org/mtv-conversio...300-df275.html http://mympxplayer.org/mtv-convert-t...22-mb-df7.html http://mympxplayer.org/mtv-convert-t...313-df271.html ftp://ftp.onda.cn/download/driver/oa..._TOOL_3.13.rar |
still nothing
i tried, but it won;t appear
the mp4 didn't had a sample file but one of those sample files that i downloaded form this site worked (the one with 128x128 18 fps) in the manual says that the video format is AVI(XviD) i tried in viDrop to make it XviD codec, but still nothing i keep thinking that it needs some complicated setup and i can't figure out why maybe you can help me :( |
Maybe you are missing some codecs on your computer? Try a few different video files types to convert from and see if that works or not.
|
i tried to put .wmv, .amv and mpg files but only .avi appears
and yes i have all the codecs on the computer but it's not the computer the mp4 needs sofisticated settings to play .avi with xviD codec i can't figure it out |
Sir what kind of mp4 y0u are using? What it chipset? If ATJ, it will play avi, if Sunplus it will play mp4 and 3gp.

hi, i've read this conversation between unicum95 and the others and i was hoping if you guys can help me.
i have a ipod like mp4 player but its not an ipod. it can out from china and i really want to put videos on the mp4 player. i've tried everything but nothing worked. the mp4 player says it only plays amv. files but nothing shows up in the mp4 player when i play it. they have a sample video that is under avi, format but when i put in a avi. format video a screen popped up and say 'error'. can someone help me. i am all out of ideas and i really want to watch videos on my mp4 player. thank you!!! |
if the mp4 came with a little cd, then the file conversion tool is in that one.
good luck |
nope. it did not came with a cd. when i download the amv converter, it converted my video but not under the amv player and the only way to play it in my mp4 is to have the video in the amv player. im so lost. i dont know what to do.
|
what is in the manual? maybe it needs xviD encoded .avi .read it carefully

Download the sample videos, put them onto your player and see which ones play on your player. Hopefully one of the sample videos there will play on your player. Then we can work back from there........... Actually fact, it would be better if you create a NEW POST for your problem as it seems your player is different from the one mentioned in this post and I don't want people getting confused as this has been [resolved]. |
I have HYUNDAI MP4 player and had same problem. He has ROCHCHEP inside and that SMV convertor that was going together with player is no good.My player play just AVI files with224x176 resoulution and sound must be mp2.viDROP did that all for me.He can even put subtitle in file.Theare is opion to chose othe cheps if your player have some other.
