Damn, so it's just mine which doesn't work with infrared... I'll have to ask for a refund. Pardon me, but I miss to understand the usage for the aerial antenna. Please explain to me :) :) :) :)

This Japanese guy, too, seems to be investingating firmware on atj213x series of chips:

This British guy here seems to have a atj2135 firmware modify tool:
MP4 Nation Forums • View topic - mod tools for ATJ2137 coming later tonight

Also, help in english for the atj2137 tool, which seems a very similar chip (same atj213x family): ATJ2137 firmware modify tools use help-TECHNICAL-Mp3 MP4 Player Firmware Downloads Base!

When a Mp3 transmit the sound by FM, must use a antenna. Normaly use the wire of the headphones or the power wire (usb). When I drive my car, y don't use the stand, the power usb or headphones, and Fm transmiter without a antenna is very poor. It's because I have solder a wire like a antenna, and works perfectly.

About the infrared, verify the battery

My God! You're totally right! I never thought about the antenna issue. Silly me!
What kind of wire can be used to make an external antenna?

Also, what do you mean about verifying the battery? You mean the remote control one, I guess. If so, I tried to check it to see if it works and it does. The problem seems to be in the mp5 unit, which either doesn't receive the signal, or maybe doesn't do anything about it (maybe very old firmware). I don't know.

Can you make an example of using the remote? If I turn on the MP5, and have a movie start, can you use the vol +/- to raise/lower the volume? Is there any signal of it working, on the display, or the volume just raises/lowers? :)

Hello

I used a fine black wire (30 cm long) solded to the antenna pad (near de usb connector).

About the remote, you can test if it works with a digital camera or your telephone camera. You can see shine the infrared led only throu a digital camera. And yes, when I use vol+/- a green bar (from 31 to 0) moves up and down on the display.

I tried with more programs to extract the firmware from this device but no results. I'm looking for this program who can read, edit and write this device.

PD: Some links you post not work now

I see. Then I can confirm my infrared remote is working but my player isn't reacting to it. It's probably faulty. As for the firmware, there doesn't seem to be anything available as of now, alas :( We should try to register and post an English post on one of those Chinese MP3 forums. Maybe they know more, there :)

hiiiii

I have the same problem. It works perfectly but fonts are very small (I need glasses to read display...), and I want to change, edit or update the firmware but it's impossible to find something about this Mp5.

Hi, all
This is my first intervention in a forum; I bought this car mp5 player (CVHV CS15) last week and I can't view any video beacuse I understood that it only reads with the extension .scv. I have tried with multiple combinations from many converters but it is not possible. Please, anyone knows how to proceed?

I believe this to be the same player as mine and this is the information I recieved with it. Hope this helps......

HI , they are a great little video player once you have a correctly converted file, i use AVS VIDEO CONVERTER 6
with a 100% sucsses rate ( You can find it on the internet - 52 meg download )
Settings are as follows
Converted file MUST have the following parameters

Video Codec or file type output. Real Video 8
Frame size 320 x 240
Frame rate 25fps
Bitrate 620
Audio Codec or Audio output. RealAudio COOK 44 kbps Stereo Music
Sample size.16 bit
Sample rate. 44100Hz
Bitrate 44 kbps

These are a standard RM output setting in the AVS program
maybe you could change the parameters to match the ones above in the converter program you are using?
The frame size ( Video Resolution ) of 320 x 240 is the important setting for these mp4 players.
Let me know if it works out for you,
i have converted full DIVX AVI movies and tv shows with no problems, but havnt found a AVI file to play properly yet.
Good Luck
