Anyone has info on this "Car MP5 Player"?

I'm looking for any info about this player, model "CVHV-CS15" (no brand):

http://img.diytrade.com/cdimg/548978...er_Kit_4GB.jpg

I don't know the manufacturer, but it's referred as "HN8W57XTKI" at online wholesale dealers.

Anyone has experience on this one? I'd like to know what chip it has, where are possible firmware updates... and, specially

WHICH ARE THE VIDEO SPECIFICATIONS NEEDED TO PLAY VIDEO FILES *SOFTLY AND WITHOUT ARTIFACTS*! (I've tried a million combinations from a Video Converter, but failed to get it).

Thank you very much!

Looking for info also. Bought it, would like to modify as fonts are extremely small.

Could you find any info on your MP5 player, in the end? :)

Hi all

I have the same problem. It works perfectly but fonts are very small (I need glasses to read display...), and I want to change, edit or update the firmware but it's impossible to find something about this Mp5.

Chip is ATJ2135F
Motherboard says: BCM2401_2135_QN8007_MV2.1
And firmware version: 13.00.10.1016.081017

Any help will be apreciated.

What does your player features? Does the Infrared controller works? What items can you read in the main menu?

I can only read 4 items. Can't remember the exact names now, but something like:

Music
Videos
Images
Settings

No option to read ebooks and my firmware starts with 10. (alas I don't have the player here with me now).

fparri 11th Feb 2010 11:37 pm

A Russian guy here has our same player ([ Îáúÿâëåíèå ] Çàêàç ïðîøèâîê äëÿ êèòàéñêèõ ïëååðîâ!). Nobody has replied to him, yet, though. There are pics of the player dismantled

fparri 11th Feb 2010 11:44 pm

A Chinese guy asked for the same model in a Chinese forum but nobody could help him:

Yes, my main menu has this four items. I have not try to read ebooks but in the information menu, appears "amount of txt files: 4". And I have not test the infrared yet.

I do a modification to transmit FM to my car without usb connected. Just a small wire solder in pcb (there is a pad to do it inside), and it works perfectly. I have a Sony Xploid with a 2000w amplifier and sounds like cd. (but i can't read the display, because the small fonts, oops...).

About firmware, I tried with more programs to read it, but not works. At wholesales market, there is the same Mp5 with more languajes (I have only English, Simplified chinese and Traditional chinese) and a better Gui with grafics....

Sorry but I don't understand Russian or Chinese. I'm from Spain.

Thanks
Warlock

Here in Itay (I'm Italian) I can't seem to be able to have the FM transmitter work because of the very full radio stations. What do you mean about 'I do a modification to transmit FM to my car without usb connected'? Didn't it do it already? Please, could you check wether your infrared module worked? Mine didn't.

The better module seems to be a similar case, with a a different chipset (it should be a rockchip one).

Let's try and find out the more we can about this damn player ;)

Ciao,
Fabio

I just try my infrared and works fine.

I translate your links with google. My mp5 is like chinese and russian (and with the same gui and graphics)

The pad to connect a aerial antena is near the usb connector (there are tree pads). one of this is the antenna conector, and has a hole near to pass thrue the wire

I'm just in investigation....

Thanks

Damn, so it's just mine which doesn't work with infrared... I'll have to ask for a refund. Pardon me, but I miss to understand the usage for the aerial antenna. Please explain to me :) :) :) :)

This Japanese guy, too, seems to be investingating firmware on atj213x series of chips:
Google Traduci

This British guy here seems to have a atj2135 firmware modify tool:
MP4 Nation Forums • View topic - mod tools for ATJ2137 coming later tonight

Also, help in english for the atj2137 tool, which seems a very similar chip (same atj213x family): ATJ2137 firmware modify tools use help-TECHNICAL-Mp3 MP4 Player Firmware Downloads Base!

When a Mp3 transmit the sound by FM, must use a antenna. Normaly use the wire of the headphones or the power wire (usb). When I drive my car, y don't use the stand, the power usb or headphones, and Fm transmiter without a antenna is very poor. It's because I have solder a wire like a antenna, and works perfectly.

About the infrared, verify the battery

My God! You're totally right! I never thought about the antenna issue. Silly me!
What kind of wire can be used to make an external antenna?

Also, what do you mean about verifying the battery? You mean the remote control one, I guess. If so, I tried to check it to see if it works and it does. The problem seems to be in the mp5 unit, which either doesn't receive the signal, or maybe doesn't do anything about it (maybe very old firmware). I don't know.

Can you make an example of using the remote? If I turn on the MP5, and have a movie start, can you use the vol +/- to raise/lower the volume? Is there any signal of it working, on the display, or the volume just raises/lowers? :)

Hello

I used a fine black wire (30 cm long) solded to the antenna pad (near de usb connector).

About the remote, you can test if it works with a digital camera or your telephone camera. You can see shine the infrared led only throu a digital camera. And yes, when I use vol+/- a green bar (from 31 to 0) moves up and down on the display.

I tried with more programs to extract the firmware from this device but no results. I'm looking for this program who can read, edit and write this device.

Warlock

PD: Some links you post not work now

fparri 17th Feb 2010 11:57 pm

I see. Then I can confirm my infrared remote is working but my player isn't reacting to it. It's probably faulty. As for the firmware, there doesn't seem to be anything available as of now, alas :( We should try to register and post an English post on one of those Chinese MP3 forums. Maybe they know more, there :)

Hi, all
This is my first intervention in a forum; I bought this car mp5 player (CVHV CS15) last week and I can't view any video beacuse I understood that it only reads with the extension .scv. I have tried with multiple combinations from many converters but it is not possible. Please, anyone knows how to proceed?

Pauloz 9th Apr 2010 3:04 am

I believe this to be the same player as mine and this is the information I recieved with it. Hope this helps......

HI , they are a great little video player once you have a correctly converted file, i use AVS VIDEO CONVERTER 6
with a 100% sucsses rate ( You can find it on the internet - 52 meg download )
Settings are as follows
Converted file MUST have the following parameters

Video Codec or file type output. Real Video 8
Frame size 320 x 240
Frame rate 25fps
Bitrate 620
Audio Codec or Audio output. RealAudio COOK 44 kbps Stereo Music
Sample size.16 bit
Sample rate. 44100Hz
Bitrate 44 kbps

These are a standard RM output setting in the AVS program
maybe you could change the parameters to match the ones above in the converter program you are using?
The frame size ( Video Resolution ) of 320 x 240 is the important setting for these mp4 players.
Let me know if it works out for you,
i have converted full DIVX AVI movies and tv shows with no problems, but havnt found a AVI file to play properly yet.
Good Luck

Need help

Hi all,

I was looking at this thread and had some doubts about it.

So from what i could understand, there is two models of this MP5 player right?

One with a Rockchip and another with the AT (surplus?) chip, right? that's why theres two different GUI graphics menu. right?

I've found the firmware on this forum, but i think its for the rock chip. Anyone with this player had some more info or news???

Thanks for your answers.

:confused::confused:
