[solved] Can't get videos to play on my Rockchip player

going to fib. Though I have looked through ALOT of posts here and found out quite abit about alot of things...I still have a problem...well, more than just 1, but lets see if I can tackle 1 at a time ;)

I know I shouldnt have now...but it's to late, I purchased one of the Onda CLONES off ebay. My fault. I didn't research prior to purchase, and of course, now I wish I had. Anyway- I digress. I have read and tried alot of the instructions, and software to get video to play on this player. This is not a huge thing for me per-se, however the item was purchased with the sole intent of giving me a small amount of silence from a child in the back seat of the car while I am driving. Cartoons would be great to get on this thing, and I have tried....Oh, how I have tried/ I am now just teetering on the edge of trying to figure out what is more annoying, trying to wrap my brain around how to do this, or listening to the kid scream. You see my dilema....

This is the photo of it, copied from another thread in this board-

The software that came with it, no dice. I am at wits end here, if I missed the post that explains this, I am sorry for wasting your time, if anyone can give me a sure fire way to get video to this device. I will be in your debt, with what little sanity I have left, I may be able to put a sugar packet in your coffee and stir it, but I make no promise I will get it right at this point.

Here is a link to the sample video that came on the player and works on the player-

The above file works with audio and video, and I just can't see what I may be doing wrong with my conversions. Thanks again all!

Here is the format of your video
Code:

Input #0, avi, from 'blah.avi':
  Duration: 00:02:00.0, start: 0.000000, bitrate: 421 kb/s
  Stream #0.0: Video: mpeg4, yuv420p, 320x240, 20.00 fps(r)
  Stream #0.1: Audio: mp2, 44100 Hz, stereo, 128 kb/s

ffmpeg can be used as an encoder and probably VirtualDub, maybe the player also expects the streams within the file to be in this particular order. Anyway, your player looks like one of these Rockchip based ones and they normally play all kinds of formats ... kinda strange.

Regards

Not for Rk2608 players, they are very picky indeed. The sample videos are the way to go, the download link is at the bottom of the page.
When you find the right format use the viDrop link that WIZARD posted - good luck!

I really

do not know what to say. I did as you instructed, found the video from samples, and using viDrop, got a cartoon working on this thing. Kudo's and thanks to you folks. I am going to play a touch with the settings and see what else I can manage with this item, but really, I thank you, the 45 remaining hairs on my head thank you, and I am sure, my screaming child will thank you. ;) You guys rock, and thanks for the fast and direct replys!
