(Partially fixed) Converting AVI to AMV, no sound/lous static noise

Hello. I have an Element GC-940 that I recently purchased. When using the MP3 Player Utilities ver. 4.18, more specifically the AMV Converter, there are some videos that transfer quite well, but one or two that transfer without sound, instead replacing the sound with a loud, constant, static noise. In addition, after about 15-20 seconds of video, the video shuts off and goes back to the files list. I was going to try other versions of the software, but my player supports 208*176 resolution, and only the 4.18 utilities give me that option. If anyone has any suggestions or software I can try, I would be most appreciative.

Thank you.

Okay, I fixed it by using ByteEssence MPxConverter, I now have sound! Unfortunately, now the screen is all kinds of jumpy. Probably something with the framerate. I downloaded VirtualDub and followed the instructions posted on this forum about it, but it is still really jumpy. I turned down the fps to 10 when converting it, but still, jumpy jumpy. The video in question has battle scenes and lots of action, so with jumpy frames, it looks like garbage. Any tips? Thanks.

Are other videos converted jumpy as well?
Try also changing the quality down as well to see if that helps as sometimes some players don't have enough memory to handle the higher quality and as a consequence, you get jumpy frames.
