What screen size is your player?
Try downloading viDrop from this site here: http://mympx.org/forum/video-related/38838-vidrop-free-open-source-converter-rockchip-players.html
Then use the setting of 320 x 240 and see if that plays on your player. The resolution is important as generally the players will only accept a certain w x h resolution for it to play on your player.

If it came with A sample video try to copy that to your pc to find out the specs of the video as well. Its what I ended up doing as well but my problem after hours of getting format error was due to the flash hack they did to make it seem bigger then it was.

Video Format error

..I copy a sample viedo and the spec were the same as the converted file. I rename the sample video and copied it back to mp4/mp5 player and then tries to view the rename file, receive a format error.

I would guess you have the memory hack as well done to your unit

first time on any kind of forum, please excuse my noobness. I have a rockchip rk27. I want to be able to view avi files on it that have been recorded using a little gum cam dvr. Its become obvious to me that I am going to change the firmware after finding this site. Before I can start to do that, I can't seem to get my laptop to reckognize the device when I connect via the usb. I am running windows xp on a dell laptop. Any help, advice, or direction to a simular thread would be greatly appreciated.
