movie made by windows moviemaker does not play correctly
Hi everyone,
I am having this wierd problem on my china pmp mp5 player (Rockchip 2706B chipset). Any regular movie or video clip that i download from the internet (flv, wmv, avi, etc) plays fine in the player. But when i edit or assemble a clip using windows moviemaker, then the device skips to the end of the movie from the middle without any warning. The sequence of events was as follows: 1. i used windows moviemaker to edit a movie and create a clip of around 60 seconds from it 2. xvid encoder was used 3. the size of the file was around 250KB 4. i played the clip in the player and it showed up correctly until the 40 second mark and then it just zipped to the end without showing the last 20 seconds. i have never seen this happen for any other file except for those edited by moviemaker. The media clip plays perfectly fine on windows media player on the desktop and also on a nokia mobile phone. I have tried vidrop and other tools to rectify the problem (post production of the clip) but nothing works. I think it has something to do with the way moviemaker sectionalizes the video clip and maybe the rockchip sees a dead end when it shouldnt. Infact i would venture to say that any continuous stream which is edited and reduced to a smaller clip may not play correctly. i can attach the wmv clip if required. ideas and help are appreciated! Can you check and compare the FRAME RATE before the conversion and the frame rate AFTER the conversion? That's the first thing that comes to mind when I read your videos are skipping......

Hi,
i did check the frame rate and it was 23.97 but i think that this frame rate may apply to the entire clip created. Is it possible for the clip to have multiple framerates for different sections that were put together? that would explain why the skipping happens on certain sectional boundaries. thanks! |
Have you tried VirtualDub? That works well for me and from memory, there is a filter there which lets you set the frame rate.
Try that and let us know of the result. |
