Default Videos failing to work

I just received a new MP4 player from Hong Kong. Music works fine but other then the sample video I have not been able to get any video to run.

Purchased:http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....#ht_4609wt_882 (Screen image not as shown)

Under version it shows:
Software: Spring MLC V3.0.3
Hardware: Magic V2
(Chipgenius did not recognise chip)

Screen is 320*240 resolution (At least according to seller)

Sample video is an AVI which is what I have been using
Either says the file does not exist or that there has been a format error

Any help would be appreciated.

Sample is here SAMPLE VIDEO

Try the "Generic Rockchip 320x240 high-Preset" in viDrop and change the framerate to 20fps instead of 24fps.

The file your link points to seems to be corrupted in some way so I cannot examine the specifications.
Two possibilities (1) you are not encoding to the specification that the hardware demands and/or (2) you have a hacked player and you are loading your .avi into faulty or non-existent memory.
Try encoding a very short (couple of seconds only) clip and see if that works.
If you want to provide a new link to the demo file I may be able to tell you avi specification that you need.
