I had a problem getting this 2006 MP4 player to display videos in MP4 format.
I was advised to contact this site with a picture of it.
However, I had such a problem with the registering regarding the "verify you are not a robot" where it calls for for the fourth character in the word"MyMPx" because there was a letter "b" in the answer box I assumed it was a "prefix" to the answer.
Which only confirms Benny Hill's old adage-"Don't Assume" "It makes an ass of U and me".
So while I was pondering over how to register I had another look for the installation mini disc that came with the MP4 and found it amongst the PSX discs.
Well, it works OK. But it says MP3 player. So does that mean the format is MP3?
And do the current MP4's use MP4 format?

Images are too small but it looks like Actions-based ping guo yi dai. It should be able to play AMV format.

Hi and welcome to the site (glad you finally registered ).

A few things to try to determine what type of player you have and therefore what video types it can play:
  • Within your player's main menu, go to "Setup" and look for something like "firmware version" or "firmware info" and post the information here. That will help us determine what type of chipset you have on your player. The video formats your player can play is determined by the chipset it runs
  • Secondly, do you have a SAMPLE video file that came with your player? If you do, can you upload it to this site or post information about it here? This will also help.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Tonberg. "Premium Danish Quality" sounds like the old Danish Bacon ad we got in the UK.
Firmware.3.5.37

2006/04/24

3.5.37.000
2005/12/16

It does work now using the software disc that came with it.Graphics are acceptable although these early units had very small screens.1 inch SQ.
Its probably better to upload a movie in MP4 format and replay on a PC.
I am just trying to sort a simple format for my son to take the current Doctor Who episode back to his army base. The series will not find its way to Israel for a good 6 months yet but fortunately "LOST" and "Doctor Who" are the 2 "most pirated" TV series at present.Either because ex-pats like myself or just enthusiasts for the series will go to great legths to keep up to date. And of course we are all grateful to the enthusiasts that post the series immediately after airing.
Many thanks for your help.

What software did you use for your player?
Was it the default MP3 Player Utilities?

Default AMVTransform tool for "Tonberg" MP4

It was the mini-disc supplied with the unit.Used it once to show my son how it worked and then he has used it only for music and photos. It was then "filed" away with his PSX disc collection. The new DVD player will not hold the mini-disc.
