Changed the framerate, didn't make a difference. I still can't get a working file out of anything. Each time I'm sure I have it matched up right, it doesn't work. It's driving me crazy. I've tried all kinds of audio settings, too. Nothing works. And yet, it's still playing its own recorded videos just fine and the sample. But that's all it will play.

I tried copy and past a screen shot, but the past was not show on quick reply. Anyway, I left audio part as default from FormatFactory and I also set at Low Quality and Size. I also reformated my MP4 memory. I'm not sure that will make a different.

Hope this will help.

I think mine is set for high quality, I'll have to check it. I messed with alot of settings, so I know it's no longer at default. On the audio default, is yours set for mp3 or mp2? I'm unwilling to reformat. I'm just afraid it will kill the thing and they didn't give me any firmware for it or where to find it. I don't want to mess with that right now. To post screenshots here, I uploaded to my own server and then put the url in with the img tags.

I got it working! It had to be re-encoded with the right version of CHN-ENG AviConverter 5.1.6 It won't work without it. So, I have written up a guide on how I got it working and included this version of the converter with it. There is no other way to get it working on my unit without it. This may also work for the new 7 inch netbooks, as well. The manufacturers are claiming they do Xvid, so I'm guessing this is it. You can get my guide here, it's about four pages long, and this is the newer version of the converter.

Thanks for helping me :D

All wasn't totally solved, my 32GB won't let me go past 2.8GB. It's definitely a hack job. I just wanted to add the chip specs to this thread, I think it's a commonly hacked Actions ATJ209X/ACU75XX.

Does anyone know what firmware this takes? Also, is there a way to see the hidden files on this thing? I can't get to it with Vista and I don't want to do anything to kill the player, I just want to view everything on it. One other question, what does happen when you format one of these? Do you lose the firmware or does it just boot back up with it? I didn't get any firmware on a CD or anything with it.

It works, I just want to do alittle exploring and I know it needs a reformat, but I'm not sure I want to go there just yet. I have no clue what the real size of the memory is. But it spits out corrupt files if I try to add anymore. I'm probably lucky I got what I got working on it now.

You are lucky that your memory is 2.8gb because my is only 2gb instead of 32gb. I reformated my memory and I believed the firmware was still intack. After formated, I put musics back in and it played, but the momory still indicated 32gb. I contacted the seller today and hoping for some responses reguarding to hacked memory.

It's possible mine is lower than the 2.8, but somehow, the files are working on it, but I can't add anything. If I try, the files show up as either zero bytes or I get file format error. It's a badly hacked drive.

What they do is, they take memory chips that real factories throw out because they are defective, then they hack them up and make these ipods. So we're not only getting fake GB's, we're getting unstable memory chips.

There is a way to get the hack off, but it doesn't always work because they hack the chip itself. The only true way to fix it and have a stable ipod is to get a real memory chip and replace it. And that's a big pain and would cost too much in time and effort and money. You might as well buy another ipod for all that.

I'm just praying mine will last awhile at this point. It does need reformatting, but I don't like the idea of doing it, especially when I don't have a firmware backup. Then we're talking about formatting an unstable chip to begin with which isn't going to fix the real problem.

I sometimes get the format error after transferring more than about 4 files to my Rockchip 27 32GB
when I delete everything and format the MP4 the same file works OK as long as it is the first file I transfer after format
then the same sort of thing happens to the 5th or 6th file I transfer and every file after that
then I go through the whole thing again format and re-transfer - something is basically wrong

Carrigon 6th Jun 2010 12:52 am

Silclay, how many megs/gb are you putting on it when it explodes? You need to find your limit and then that's really the size of the drive you bought. It's a hack job.

silclay 6th Jun 2010 5:44 am

Different each time
sometimes I manage to put 5Gb sometimes more

the drive properties shows about 31GB but I suspect that there's something in the size of the individual files.
I don't know if this is a file size limit or a limited cache in my computer
proplem is I don't know where to start.

Is there such a thing as a defined limit to the size of individual files irrespective of the drive total size?
if so how do I change it?
