Default [NOT- Solved] How to fix video "file format error"? it came again

hi, im pretty new to this forum, and mp4's. the thing is i bought this mp4 player which doesnt have a specific name, in ebay its called just '16GB Touch Screen 16G MP3 MP4 Video RMVB Player+Camera' ... here it is
16GB Touch Screen 16G MP3 MP4 Video RMVB Player+Camera - eBay (item 150500189210 end time Sep-30-10 07:20:17 PDT)

the problem is the same as to everyone, when i try to play my own video which i uploaded it goes 'file format error' ... it can only play the sample, which i accidently deleted when trying to format (i formated through inside of my mp4 so the OS didnt screw up) ... i tried every possible way (the software which was a crappy media manager which didnt even find video folder and upload any video file to music/unknown/unknown, which results in a dead file, and a avi converter which actually doesnt convert anything (the file doest appear you converted anywhere in directory i outputed) so i tried different formats , not only avi... rm and rmvb doesnt work, no mpg and mp4 and all -nothing) i even tried those rockchip samples to figure which type it can play.. well.. it didnt play any of them...

i analized the sample a bit, and got that it goes at 20fps,320x240, 91kbs video bit rate, 128kbs audio and thats probably anything i can remember about it...

i made these specs to the converter and made an identical copy of the sample, and it didnt work... its kind of a ripoff so i dont even know the firmware, although i got a firmware upgrade tool along in the software which doesnt actually say much... so uh.. also i found in player option that its name is: media player... and ver: mp4 version 1018_100303_rel_tp_iphone_bg_s ...

pleeeease help me, im in need of videos in my mp4 T_T

Thank you for updating us that it has been solved now.

So you used viDrop with the 20fps,320x240, 91kbs video bit rate, 128kbs audio settings?

wow.. i really hate my mp4 actually.. btw i used the defaults not the the ones the sample had, although i tried and it worked with every 320*240 avi format it worked (medium, low and high)

but apearantly that s**t (sorry but it really boiled my blood) has a mind of its own.. just after about 10-11 videos i put it got stuck (i dont know how to describe it) again somewhere in his OS and refused to read any videos I put again… so I got the format error again.. god.. probably if I would reformat it again it would work for the couple of videos, but reformatting every 10vids wouldn’t be very safe for the mp4 itself…
P.S. I used absolutely the same settings I did for the videos that were working, I even tried to upload the video twice that worked and it wasn’t working anymore.. so it isn’t actually the format problem but the mp4 OS itself I suppose… any help?

Looks the same as mine.
Photos here >How I got my Chinese MP3 MP4 Player to play video.
The problem you're having may be because of hacked memory. Every time I try to exceed the true capacity of mine (about 1.7GB) it corrupts the files and I have to reload it.
Your only option may be to reformat and watch that you don't put too much data on it in future.
Because of the hacked memory I got a partial refund on mine. Different seller though.

Hiya!!! Names Fred, new member, & guess what I just bought off E-Bay!! And am having problems,... if I load small videos, no problem, but if I load a 700Mg film, I get the 'file format error' message. looks like I got a 'hacked' memory unit, too...
I thought 16 GB was a bit too good to be true??? I will go look for a format/memory check utility on the forum, then see where I am at,.... as an absolute newbie, any info/hints /links to a user guide manual would be great, too!!

Cheers, Fred
