Default Lisse U10

Hi, I have recently purchased a Lisse U10 16 gig PMP. It is supposed to play xvids etc without converting. The trouble is that although it will play vids (great picture quality) the video will freeze after a short while, but the audio continues. I tried converting with avicoverter (320x 240) and the video plays fine with just the occasional freeze. My question is: does anyone know why it is freezing on avi's that are not converted, and if I do still need to convert, what would be the best aspect ratio? Any help here will be greatly appreciated. It uses a Rockchip Rk27sdk

I wonder whether it's the frame rates of the videos that's causing it to 'lag'.........
I've seen lots of issues like this in the past and the problem is generally with the frame rate of the video.
Check out the ones that play fine on your player and compare it with the one that doesn't play well or lags.
As there are various frame rates and encoding settings people can use when encoding a video, I would say it's just a matter of finding one that will play well with your player. I would also say that the processors on these players are not as powerful as computers so hence why they might lag at some videos with various frame rates....

Thanks Binh, I will experiment with different frame rates. I have just checked, and the videos that I have encoded that run smoother are 20 fps. The videos I have downloaded and played without encoding run between 22-25 fps. Does the bitrate have anything to do with quality as well?

Cheers.
